SYNKOFA and Ellis & Franklin history / "Traveler" CD
Traveler is a concept album that is about the journey of the soul on the eternal continuum. Ellis & Franklin was an instrumental group that performed their own blend of electro-acoustic music using innovative instruments from 1992 until James Franklin Anglesey’s death in 2005. The leader/composer/ and Clio award winning recording engineer, also known as Jimmy Franklin, produced this album through Lodestar Productions with his wife, Theresa Ellis, in their home studio in West Jordan, Utah in 1997.

Ellis & Franklin coined the musical description 'Celtic Jazz' in the mid 1990’s, and the original members performed as a five piece group until 2003. Their original pieces evolved from the influences of Americana, country, rock & roll, and bluegrass music. Originals written by Jim Anglesey, Jim Logue and poetry dedicated to the songs were written for this album by Laurie Pace. All band members were of Welsh decent and had a deep love of Celtic traditional tunes.
As the Phoenix rises from the ashes, the Ellis & Franklin band is still alive with two of its original members, Theresa Ellis and Stephen Wesson. The World Music ensemble now performs as SYNKOFA – Celtic Jazz.
